Walking to the city as a new player is a bit dangerous -don't be ashamed to run away from animals, and absolutely avoid any and all ruins you find in the way- but once you get to the city you will find plenty of places to set up your main base In the north of the city is the market, where you can spend the gold ans silver coins, and hidden around the city -usually at the top of towers, but also in a couple of hidden locations- are a lot of treasure chests, where you can find plenty of thick leather and steel bars. Its a neutral NPC city where only a few criminals will attack you (but be careful, because if you do attack anyone, including those criminals you will aggro everybody around you) The answer to both your questions is the same: Sepermeru in B7.
